sheep - dog - farmer

3 Books about sheep farming in Ireland and the UK. It is this intrinsically linked ‘trinity’ of SHEEP, DOG and FARMER, and the finely tuned communication between humans and animals, that has inspired this project. Through a successful Kickstarter Campaign these books were printed as a limited edition.

If all 3 books are opened and arranged in a triangle to each other, the sheep dog and farmer are, in fact, looking at each other.

Each book emphasises the point of view of its Cover Character and its interaction with the other parties.

This ‘trinity’ is reinforced through my design in every book, in lots of different ways:

At the front of each chapter, is a full-bleed spread of a panoramic landscape photograph – this becomes fully realised once the reader opens each book at this same place and rests them next to each other, side by side.
